Amber Ring

Amber Ring

Amber has been used as jewelry since Neolithic times. It has been popular due to its attractive color and beauty. Amber comes from the fossilized resin secretion in the tree or from Baltic origins. An amber of good quality is used widely as ornamental objects, and of course jewelry. There are amber jewelries that contain animal (particularly insects) and plant materials, which add to the jewelry’s uniqueness.

Amber has a range of colors. It usually exhibits a yellow-orange tinge, which is linked to the color “amber.” Other colors of amber include lemon yellow and brown. Black and white ambers are also available. Rare amber colors are red and green, but the rarest of them all is the blue amber, which is the most sought-after type. Amber that is transparent is more expensive as opposed to those that are foggy or opaque.

Baltic amber jewelries are very popular among women. Baltic ambers are used to form different kinds of jewelries such as necklaces, bracelets and rings. Amber rings are very pleasant to look at, and looks as if the jewelry itself holds a mystery of its past. Amber rings are created differently. One type is solid ring of amber, which is made out of solid amber stones. This type of amber ring uses Baltic amber as the sole material for creation. Another type is the sterling silver amber rings, where the proportion of materials has sterling silver inclusions.

Each amber ring is unique to the other. Since no two ambers are alike, you can enjoy owning a one-of-a-kind type of ring. Rings of amber type are widely available in the market. You can purchase these rings on most jewelry stores. There are also rings of amber type that are available for online purchase. Just be sure to check the site’s credibility before buying from an online store.

Caring for amber rings include polishing them when they become dull. First, you need a damp flannel cloth soaked in lukewarm water. Wipe the amber’s surface to remove sweat, stain and dust. Wipe it with dry cloth afterwards. Olive oil can be used to bring back the luster of amber rings. Wiping your ring with a cloth that contains a few drops of olive oil will help in bringing back its shine. After doing so, use a dry cloth to wipe off the excess oil. So that the amber will not get easily scratched, always put it inside a flannel jewelry bag when you are not wearing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Caribbean Glow
Sterling Silver Caribbean Amber Marquise-Shaped Ring - The generous cut of the stone is set off by the delicate style of the setting, and it is a perfect showcase for the elusive green of Caribbean amber. The stone appears to be a different shade of green, with different depths and light when viewed from the side or front. It is a winning way to showcase the "other amber", which is growing in popularity.

Sterling Silver Celtic Design Amber Ring - I gave this ring to my daughter who is over 20 and she was delighted when she opened the box on Christmas. The ring is made well and the stone is a very nice color and size. I would suggest to anyone who is contemplating whether or not they should purchase this ring that they should and they will not be disappointed. This ring also comes with a garnet stone I believe which would make a nice gift for that someone special on Valentine's Day.
